Vision - Our Center's Vision is to create atomic-scale devices and systems based on quantum materials that enable quantum sensing, quantum communication, and quantum computation.

Rationale - Quantum materials offer dramatically new and different approaches for electronics and photonics, but their characteristics, and the techniques to make devices and interconnected systems are largely unknown. Our Center addresses this challenge by bringing together an interdisciplinary team of experts in materials growth and characterization, device fabrication and testing, and theoretical modeling. Working together, they can develop the science and technology needed to move toward applications
