David Macaulay Studio at CIQM
Picture
Best-selling The Way Things Work author and illustrator David Macaulay is collaborating with the Museum team, faculty and students to develop compelling new visualizations for quantum materials. Macaulay worked with CIQM faculty and Museum of Science staff to design the CIQM logo.  At CIQM Education & Visualization Workshops he's inspired faculty and students to design their scientific illustrations for understanding by other researchers and for broader audiences, by building a consistent visual narrative in point-of-view, perspective, colors and symbols.

David Macaulay is the recipient of MacArthur Fellowship and numerous book awards. His books include: The Way Things Work, The Way We Work, and the Building Big book and PBS TV series.  Below, David muses in his sketchbook about the excitement and challenge of visualizing quantum materials.
